It has been another busy eighteen months for the therapists at the Lighthouse Clinic. Phil Brahms now has full registration with the UKCP. Robert DeStefano has completed his level 2 Internal Family Systems qualification. Congratulations to both these highly qualified psychotherapists.
Between all the therapists under the umbrella of the Lighthouse Clinic many hours of continuing professional development have been accrued. This includes many hours of supervision and peer processing. A recent trip to Hay on Wye 'How The Light Gets In' festival included attending talks with psychologists and psychiatrists such as Joanna Moncrieff. Joanna's fascinating talk highlighted what she referred to as 'the serotonin myth' which refers to the lack of convincing evidence for the serotonin chemical imbalance theory of depression. This is a topic which deserves further discussion. Watch this space!
