Nicola is a fully qualified humanistic psychotherapist accredited  by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP). Nicola's educational background has reflected her ongoing interest and curiosity in human psychological development, and she holds a BA (Hons) in Early Education and English that led to a variety of teaching roles. Nicola also pursued her interest in pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting by becoming a birth support worker (Doula). This work led to a desire to support the psychological demands of parenting which prompted Nicola to train as a psychotherapist. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (MSc equivalent) from the Welsh Psychotherapy Institute, and was awarded a distinction.

Nicola's experience at Lighthouse Clinic involves working with those with relationship problems, bereavement, retirement, divorce, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, identity, sexuality, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), developmental trauma, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, self-harm, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), addictions, and personality disorders. She has a strong belief in the power of providing a safe trusting therapeutic relationship for bringing about positive change. Nicola provides a safe space to explore purpose and meaning in relationships, work, family, culture, and spirituality, especially when our ever-changing world can feel overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes frightening. Her integrative approach draws upon several psychotherapy models to offer a treatment tailored to the specific needs of her clients. This includes, but is not limited to, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Sensorimotor psychotherapy. She is informed by research, attending conferences, workshops and lectures, personal experience and remaining ever aware of the latest developments in the field.
